The TELEFUNKEN 6550-TK is a high output power tube suitable for use in guitar amplifiers and Leslie speaker systems. Ideal for use in classic Marshall, Fender and Ampeg tube circuits, the 6550-TK offers outstanding performance and stability.
Tung-Sol developed the 6550 in 1955 for use as a servo amplifier and in industrial applications. The design is based on the 6L6, but with more gain and better stability.
Like the 6L6, the 6550 is a beam power tube design (or power tetrode) that can painlessly deliver 35 watts at its output.
Any bass player with an Ampeg SVT knows the beauty of the 6550 sound, as well as the raw power they can deliver. One of the best features of the 6550 is the tube’s long life characteristic, which will grant the user fewer tube changes over the years.
Telefunken vacuum tubes have been the benchmark of excellence in all audio applications, both productions and reproduction, for many decades. Today, this rich history continues with the introduction of new production tubes from Telefunken Elektroakustik, in partnership with JJ tubes from the Carpathian mountains of Cadca in Slovakia.
Each tube is meticulously measured for all critical parameters of performance including transconductance, gain, noise, and microphonics. All Telefunken branded tubes are hand picked to be the best examples of Eastern European construction in the proud tradition with which the name Telefunken Elektroakustik has become synonymous.
In addition to the rigorous testing procedure, all new production Telefunken tubes are cryogenically treated to ensure durability, and subjected to an extended burn-in period to ensure superior stability. The tubes are re-measured subsequent to burn-in, and again before final packaging, in order to guarantee that only the best, lowest noise tubes are offered.
Neither SX Pro or TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik will be held responsible (financially or otherwise) for equipment that is damaged from the use of tubes purchased from us. Each tube has been fully tested to ensure reliability and is guaranteed to perform as described. It is the responsibility of the customer to consult with the equipment manufacturer (or qualified technician) for the selection of proper tubes and proper installation and biasing procedures.
UK Mainland – Orders over £99 qualify for FREE standard shipping (1-3 working days) We also offer a range of chargeable express shipping options for next working day, pre 12pm, pre 10.30am, Saturday deliveries and deliveries on a specific date. Our main UK courier is DPD.
UK Non Mainland – Not eligible for free shipping. These areas include (but are not limited to) Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Isles of Scilly, Jersey, Guernsey, Northern Ireland, Orkney, Scottish Highlands and Shetland. Shipping costs for these ares will be calculated at checkout.
International/Export – Delivery charges will be calculated at checkout. All orders that are in stock we aim to dispatch from our warehouse within 48 hours. We ship all orders outside of the UK, NI, Isle of Man, Channel Islands via Fedex. All prices and delivery charges are exclusive of VAT for export. The customer is responsible to pay for any additional duties and charges.
