The SPL BiG [STUDIO] is a 19-inch rack-mount stereo processor that pushes your stereo image beyond conventional limits, delivering expansive width, refined mapping and studio-grade build quality. Designed for the professional studio environment, this unit brings a unique analog approach to stereo shaping — not simply M/S processing, but a fresh method of deriving a difference signal from the input, running it through an analog filter network, and blending it back into the original signal for true stereo enhancement.

At the heart of the BiG [STUDIO] is a newly-developed tube circuit. The “Tube Harmonics” section gives you control over harmonic generation, adding vivid detail and character to your signal. When engaged, the built-in tube warm-up phase ensures optimal operating conditions before the harmonic effect kicks in. Complementing this, a dedicated Bass Switch circuit adds a subtle low-end lift, ideal for giving your processed stereo signal more foundation without resorting to heavy EQ boosts.

The front-panel controls — Range, Stage and Bigness — give you intuitive control over what frequencies are processed, how they’re positioned across the stereo field, and how strongly the effect is applied. Range lets you define the frequency band targeted, Stage shifts that band forwards or backwards in the stereo stage, and Bigness determines the intensity of the stereo imaging. When summed to mono, the processed signal remains phase-clean with no cancellation issues—making it safe for broadcast or multi-format mix workflows.

Inside, the BiG [STUDIO] maintains +/-18 V internal audio voltage and uses fully balanced inputs and outputs (XLR and TRS in parallel) to deliver maximum fidelity. Its frequency response spans an impressive 10 Hz to 200 kHz (-3 dB) with THD+N at just 0.0035% and A-weighted noise floor at -97.5 dBu. Encased in a rugged housing with a 4 mm black-anodised aluminium front panel and aluminium knobs, the unit reflects SPL’s German-manufactured heritage and commitment to quality.

UK Non Mainland – Not eligible for free shipping. These areas include (but are not limited to) Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Isles of Scilly, Jersey, Guernsey, Northern Ireland, Orkney, Scottish Highlands and Shetland. Shipping costs for these ares will be calculated at checkout.

International/Export – Delivery charges will be calculated at checkout. All orders that are in stock we aim to dispatch from our warehouse within 48 hours. We ship all orders outside of the UK, NI, Isle of Man, Channel Islands via Fedex. All prices and delivery charges are exclusive of VAT for export. The customer is responsible to pay for any additional duties and charges.
