PMC’s twin cabinet format combines the PMC8-2 mid-field full-range monitor with the PMC8-2 SUB subwoofer, forming a perfectly integrated loudspeaker with the sub. Like the smaller active XBD systems, the PMC8-2 XBD configuration gains an impressive 6dB greater bass headroom than the main speaker alone.
The XBD configuration delivers a supreme monitoring experience with a sense of boundless headroom and immediate visceral attack. But these qualities aren´t about sheer volume; there´s no need to monitor at high level as the full dynamic range and depth of bass remains consistent at all listening levels and for everything from dance to full scale orchestral material. The XBD format delivers superlative and effortless full-range monitoring quality in modest to larger control rooms.
In an XBD configuration the audio input signal connects to the PMC8-2 monitor and is passed to the sub via the digital ‘through’ output. Once in the XBD mode the highly sophisticated DSP engines in each cabinet ensure perfect acoustic dovetailing of the two units creating an awesome performer with the option of further enhancements made with the intuitive SoundAlign™ web interface.
The PMC 8-2 SUB is a true low-frequency monitor like the PMC8 SUB and offering the same DSP engine and seamless integration with surround and immersive systems, the PMC8-2 SUB betters the spec of its smaller sibling, offering higher maximum SPL output down to 25Hz.
With the same dimensions as the PMC8-2 midfield monitor, the PMC8-2 SUB’s twin eight-inch bass drivers are powered by independent 400W Class-D amplifiers. The same configuration options are available as on the PMC8 SUB, likewise accessible on the speaker’s rear panel or by using the browser-based SoundAlign™ software via a LAN-connected tablet, smartphone or computer.
The PMC8-2 SUB can be used as a standalone subwoofer for multichannel and immersive sound systems, or as an XBD cabinet with either PMC6-2 or PMC8-2 s, creating a system of awesome power and dynamic range. The sub is available in either left- or right-handed cabinet versions (PMC8-2 SUB-L or PMC8-2 SUB-R), to allow placement of the bass drivers on the outside edges of a stereo array, matching the arrangement of the main monitors.

UK Non Mainland – Not eligible for free shipping. These areas include (but are not limited to) Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Isles of Scilly, Jersey, Guernsey, Northern Ireland, Orkney, Scottish Highlands and Shetland. Shipping costs for these ares will be calculated at checkout.
International/Export – Delivery charges will be calculated at checkout. All orders that are in stock we aim to dispatch from our warehouse within 48 hours. We ship all orders outside of the UK, NI, Isle of Man, Channel Islands via Fedex. All prices and delivery charges are exclusive of VAT for export. The customer is responsible to pay for any additional duties and charges.
