Each channel houses a complete signal path—featuring a discrete Class A mic/line preamp, optical tube compressor/limiter, six-band passive EQ, THD saturation stage, and comprehensive routing controls—offering engineers and producers the same tonal richness, flexibility, and workflow enhancements once reserved for full analog consoles.
At the heart of the N‑Closure 2 are the discrete Jensen JE990-style preamps, known for their wide dynamic range and pristine transient handling. Paired with the lush character of the tube optical compressor, you can dial in compression from smooth glue to aggressive pumping—while still preserving tube tone even when the compressor is bypassed. A dry/wet blend control and sidechain filter give further control over dynamics, making it equally at home on vocals, drums, and mix buses.
The six-band EQ takes a musical approach, with overlapping low, mid, and high bands designed for tonal shaping rather than surgical correction. With rotary switches offering stepped recall and the choice between shelf or bell curves at the extremes, it`s quick to sculpt the sound without getting lost in the details.
Adding to its tonal palette, the THD section lets you introduce harmonic distortion ranging from soft symmetrical drive to edgy asymmetric saturation via germanium or silicon stages. And thanks to smart routing options—including processing order switching, stereo linking, and multiple insert and output points—you’re in full command of your signal flow whether tracking, mixing, or re-amping.
