The Heritage Audio HERCHILD Next Gen Model 670N is a modern evolution of one of the most revered Vari-Mu tube compressors in recording history, delivering unmistakable vintage tone with the precision, reliability, and flexibility demanded by today’s professional studios. Designed for tracking, mixing, and mastering, the 670N captures the musical compression behaviour and harmonic richness of the original while introducing thoughtful enhancements for contemporary workflows.

At its core, the 670N is a true Vari-Mu compressor built around four NOS military-grade 6BA6 tubes and six custom-designed transformers, producing rich, dense, and effortlessly musical dynamics control. From subtle levelling on vocals and acoustic instruments to bold, authoritative compression on drums, bass, and mix bus duties, the 670N responds smoothly and musically to program material, imparting weight, depth, and cohesion without sacrificing clarity.

The Next Gen design brings modern control to this classic topology. Six carefully selected attack and release time constants allow precise shaping of transients and sustain, while the progressive DC threshold control enables seamless movement from gentle compression into firm limiting. Advanced sidechain filtering helps maintain low-end integrity and prevent unwanted pumping, making the unit equally at home on individual sources or full mixes.

Engineered for flexibility in professional environments, the 670N supports dual mono, stereo, and true mid/side operation, alongside independent channel bypass for fast A/B comparisons. UK Mainland – Orders over £99 qualify for FREE standard shipping (1-3 working days) We also offer a range of chargeable express shipping options for next working day, pre 12pm, pre 10.30am, Saturday deliveries and deliveries on a specific date. Our main UK courier is DPD.

UK Non Mainland – Not eligible for free shipping. These areas include (but are not limited to) Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Isles of Scilly, Jersey, Guernsey, Northern Ireland, Orkney, Scottish Highlands and Shetland. Shipping costs for these ares will be calculated at checkout.

International/Export – Delivery charges will be calculated at checkout. All orders that are in stock we aim to dispatch from our warehouse within 48 hours. We ship all orders outside of the UK, NI, Isle of Man, Channel Islands via Fedex. All prices and delivery charges are exclusive of VAT for export. The customer is responsible to pay for any additional duties and charges.
