The Crane Song Avocet II is a highly accurate discrete Class A mastering grade monitor controller with remote.
The result of two years of research, the Crane Song Avocet II improves on the original design and features a brand new 4th generation D/A using a new quartz crystal reference oscillator for clocking. The result is an extremely low jitter as low as 1pS and phase noise-floor below 115dB at 10Hz. This combined with unique analogue and digital reconstruction filters ensure a pristine sound with far more detail, focus and superior imaging.
The Avocet II comprises a 2U rack mount box with three stereo XLR analogue inputs, AES Digital Inputs and three speaker outputs, TRS headphone out and optical S/PDIF coaxial connectors. A desktop remote is also included with a comfortable multi-function Volume knob which lets you control all the different input levels with ultimate precision thanks to its 1dB per step increment. Additional controls include dim. Mute, phase, mono and a 16-bit truncation to let you hear how your mix would sound on a CD. A Speaker select switch lets you choose between 3 monitor stereo outputs.
The remote on the Avocet 2 has also been upgraded offering further workflow improvements. First of all, most switches have now multiple functions which are accessible via a Shift button. Speaker selection buttons can be used to setup surround setup more efficiently. In additional speaker selection buttons can now be selected simultaneously. The Mute button now overrides all functions including talkback. The Mic gain on Talk back is now controlled via the main level switch.
Already extremely popular amongst recording, mixing and mastering engineers alike the Avocet has become a fixture in some of the best recording studios over the world thanks to the level of control it offers. The Avocet 2 has raised the bar even higher.
The Quantum DAC is the 5th generation design from Crane Song and has less then 1pS jitter.
The Quantum DAC uses 32 bit a converter and ASRC for jitter reduction up sampling to 211KHz. Avocet has always upsampled to 211KHz. The reference clock has less then 1pS, 0.5pS typical 1Hz to 100KHz and a proprietary reconstruction filter for accurate time domain response.
Direct sub woofer outputs for each of the three output have been added.
The output levels are now programmable in 0.25 db steps for speaker level matching.

International/Export – Delivery charges will be calculated at checkout. All orders that are in stock we aim to dispatch from our warehouse within 48 hours. We ship all orders outside of the UK, NI, Isle of Man, Channel Islands via Fedex. All prices and delivery charges are exclusive of VAT for export. The customer is responsible to pay for any additional duties and charges.
