Built to be used everywhere, BIGFOOT is equally at home on vocals, bass, drums, mix bus, and mastering duties, delivering control, tone, and authority in one formidable unit.
At its heart, BIGFOOT pairs a solid-state optical compressor with a fast, switchable FET limiter, allowing engineers to shape dynamics musically while confidently controlling peaks in a single signal path. Unlike classic optical designs rooted in vintage topologies, the BC5000 represents a genuine evolution, utilising BURL Audio’s NextGen Analog architecture for exceptional depth, punch, and clarity with an ultra-low noise floor.
The signal path is pure BURL. BIGFOOT is fully balanced from input to output, all-discrete transistor, class-A, and direct-coupled throughout. The input and output stages are lifted directly from BURL’s mastering-grade Mothership cards — the BAD4M and BDA4M — ensuring the same sonic pedigree found in elite mastering converters. Switchable BX1 input and BX5 output transformers let you choose between clean precision and unmistakable BURL weight and harmonic density.
BIGFOOT excels at low-frequency material. A switchable sidechain low-cut prevents bass energy from over-triggering the compression, allowing the body and groove of the mix to remain intact without unwanted pumping. For vocals, a built-in de-esser makes sibilance control fast and intuitive, while a switchable 10kHz high-frequency boost restores clarity and air to darker sources without sounding brittle or artificial.
Precision is central to the BIGFOOT workflow. Audiophile stepped attenuators are used for input and output, alongside stepped threshold, attack, release, and ratio controls, making recall simple and repeatable. Stereo linking, hard bypass, and comprehensive switching options make BIGFOOT equally suited to modern hybrid studios and high-end mastering environments.

International/Export – Delivery charges will be calculated at checkout. All orders that are in stock we aim to dispatch from our warehouse within 48 hours. We ship all orders outside of the UK, NI, Isle of Man, Channel Islands via Fedex. All prices and delivery charges are exclusive of VAT for export.
