The AEA N28 is a compact active stereo ribbon microphone consisting of two matched bidirectional (or figure-of-8) ribbon transducers in a fixed Blumlein configuration. The N28 offers an effortless way to capture natural stereo, providing an authentic representation of a performance in its environment. Distinguishing itself from other AEA Stereo Ribbon Mics, the N28 is compact, maneuverable, and easy to use, making it ideal for a wide range of applications without the need for a multi-mic setup.

Whether for drum overheads, room ambiance, or close-miked stringed instruments, the N28 delivers a phase-coherent, accurate response. Its mid-forward frequency response, tamed proximity effect, and quick transient response make it versatile across various sources. The N28 excels on darker sources and is a practical solution for capturing a stereo image without drawing attention to the mic itself.

Use with any preamp, on any source
The N28 operates on standard 48V Phantom Power. This extra gain means you can choose a preamp based on sound, not gain or input impedance. From your desktop USB Interface all the way to boutique preamps, the N28’s active circuitry ensures you will get a good signal from even the quietest sources. With an all-new impedance buffer amp topology and 1:89 Lehle transformer, the N28 does an excellent job at preventing noise interference on longer cable runs or when operating near lighting rigs.

UK Mainland – Orders over £99 qualify for FREE standard shipping (1-3 working days) We also offer a range of chargeable express shipping options for next working day, pre 12pm, pre 10.30am, Saturday deliveries and deliveries on a specific date. Our main UK courier is DPD.

UK Non Mainland – Not eligible for free shipping. These areas include (but are not limited to) Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Isles of Scilly, Jersey, Guernsey, Northern Ireland, Orkney, Scottish Highlands and Shetland. Shipping costs for these ares will be calculated at checkout.

International/Export – Delivery charges will be calculated at checkout. All orders that are in stock we aim to dispatch from our warehouse within 48 hours. We ship all orders outside of the UK, NI, Isle of Man, Channel Islands via Fedex. All prices and delivery charges are exclusive of VAT for export. The customer is responsible to pay for any additional duties and charges.
