The Chord Electronics Alto is a studio-grade headphone and speaker amplifier crafted to deliver exceptional sound performance in a compact, rugged form. Leveraging the ULTIMA dual feed-forward error-correction topology, Alto provides ultra-clear, dynamic, and distortion-controlled amplification that excels in both precision and warmth.

It’s loaded with versatility: rear-panel inputs include both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA, with balanced XLR outputs for preamp use or signal pass-through. On the front, you’ll find four headphone outputs—3.5 mm single-ended, two 6.35 mm, and a pioneering pseudo-balanced 4.4 mm Pentaconn jack—allowing simultaneous A/B listening or group monitoring. The Alto also powers nearfield speakers with up to 50 W per channel into 4 Ω (25 W into 8 Ω), and includes speaker outputs for single-wire banana connectors.

Precision control is at your fingertips with the mechanical volume knob and color-coded LED orbs, enabling intuitive input/output switching. A 12 V DC out on the rear panel even lets you power additional from-source components—perfect for streamlined desktop or rack setups.
