The Zoom SSH-6e adds directional mid-side recording to supported essential and studio recorders. Its centre microphone concentrates on the subject, while the side element captures surrounding sound, giving you a useful way to balance dialogue and atmosphere without switching microphones.

Choose the stereo width for the scene or record raw mid-side audio to make that decision later. The included hairy windscreen helps reduce wind rumble on location. It uses Capsule System 3.0 and requires the appropriate host firmware, so check the exact recorder version before fitting it.
