The A-Range console sound, in your rack

The Trident A-Range Dual Channel Strip brings the original A-Range console design into a standalone 2U unit. Two independent channels combine discrete microphone and line amplification with four-band EQ, giving you a recording front end and an analogue processor for line-level sources.

Discrete preamps with transformer-balanced inputs

Both microphone and line inputs use transformers, with microphone gain extending to 60dB. Independent 48V phantom power, polarity reversal and output controls make it straightforward to work with two different sources or a stereo recording.

Hands-on A-Range equalisation

Inductor-based mid bands provide peaking EQ, complemented by shelving bass and treble sections. Four frequency choices per band and centre-detented faders let you see your adjustments at a glance. Add weight, shape the midrange or open up the top end, then use EQ bypass to compare your changes.

Fit your processing around the performance

High-pass and low-pass filters help control unwanted extremes. Each channel also has an insert that can sit before or after the EQ, so you can place an external compressor where it works best. Switch the insert out to compare the result without repatching. Peak indicators monitor the input, EQ and output stages.
