Clarity with a little more weight.

The M81 shares the M80’s articulate midrange and reduced proximity effect, with a top end that is pulled back for a flatter overall balance. It is a useful starting point when a bright vocal or guitar sound needs body without losing definition.

A low-mass diaphragm and custom-wound transformer sit at the heart of the design. The supercardioid pickup helps separate the source from surrounding sound, making the M81 useful in close-miked sessions and on busy stages.
