Tegeler Audio MythVCA 500

The Tegeler MythVCA 500 is a powerful and versatile VCA compressor built for the 500-series format. Use it gently to even out a vocal, bass, guitar or synth, or push it harder to add snap, punch and attitude to drums and transient-heavy sources.

The attack control ranges from extremely fast 0.1 ms settings through to slower timings, allowing you to decide how much transient impact remains at the front of the sound. Fast settings can clamp down on peaks quickly, while slower attack times let more of the initial hit through for a punchier feel. The release control offers manual settings as well as Auto release, giving you the option of either precise timing or a more programme-dependent response that follows the source in a musical way.

A built-in low-cut filter helps keep low-frequency energy from over-triggering the compressor, making the MythVCA 500 especially useful on full-range material, drum buses and mix bus applications. This allows the compressor to react more naturally to the overall signal rather than being pulled around excessively by bass-heavy content.

For stereo operation, two MythVCA 500 modules can be linked using the included linking bridge, turning them into a compact stereo bus compressor setup. Combined with stepped potentiometers for repeatability, balanced input and output, and a wide dynamic range, the MythVCA 500 is a practical, professional compressor for both tracking and mixing.
