The Teenage Engineering M-1 is a compact pair of wired, foldable headphones with both a detachable boom microphone and a built-in microphone. It is designed for portable listening and voice sampling, making it a practical companion for compatible instruments and devices when you want to hear a session and add your voice without carrying a separate microphone.

Listen and capture a voice

The detachable boom brings the microphone closer to your mouth for a direct vocal pickup. Remove it when you want a simpler listening setup, with the built-in microphone available for supported uses. The supplied four-pole TRRS cable carries headphone audio and the microphone connection with compatible equipment. Microphone operation depends on the connected device supporting the appropriate TRRS wiring and input; a standard headphone-only socket does not automatically provide a microphone input.

Easy to carry, simple to connect

The folding design makes M-1 easier to fit into a bag alongside a small synthesiser, sampler or recorder. Its passive wired connection avoids the need to charge another listening device before a session. Connect through the supplied 1.2m cable, set a comfortable listening level and use the boom microphone when the source device supports voice capture.
