Product overview

Soundtoys PrimalTap 5

Make the delay an instrument in its own right.

PrimalTap takes inspiration from the unusual behaviour of the Lexicon Prime Time. Two delay taps, pitch-changing time controls and a Freeze function make it useful for everyday echoes, degraded repeats and evolving loops.

Sound and workflow

What it brings to your session.

Two taps, many interactions

Set each delay independently in milliseconds or sync it to tempo. Expanded feedback modes include stereo and reverb-like options.

Change the time, change the texture

Multiply introduces the pitch and fidelity changes associated with the original hardware. VCO modulation spans chorus-like movement through more extreme warbles.

Capture and reshape

Freeze holds incoming audio for looping and manipulation, with up to 2.5 seconds available. Automating the controls turns a captured fragment into a moving part of the arrangement.
