At its core, UMD192 provides up to 192 channels of bidirectional audio at 44.1–96 kHz, or 128 channels at 176.4–192 kHz, making it one of the most capable format-bridging interfaces available. It allows seamless audio routing between any two formats—USB, MADI, or Dante—while simultaneously providing a split feed to the third. This makes it equally at home as a high-channel-count USB recording interface, a MADI-to-Dante bridge, or a central hub in hybrid systems.

UMD192’s Dante implementation is fully interoperable and future-ready, supporting AES67 and ST 2110 (with Dante Domain Manager), with ultra-low latency operation down to 0.25 ms. Flexible clocking options allow synchronisation from either Dante or MADI across the full 44.1–192 kHz sample-rate range. Six MADI BNC pairs can be configured for redundancy, enabling up to three dual-redundant MADI connections—ideal for mission-critical broadcast and live sound workflows.

Despite its immense capability, UMD192 remains highly practical in real-world use. Clear front-panel indicators provide instant feedback on signal flow, sync status, power, and network connectivity, while a lockable control system prevents accidental changes during operation.
