Royer dBooster2

The Royer dBooster2 is a versatile dual-channel in-line signal booster and direct input (DI) box designed to enhance the performance of passive ribbon and dynamic microphones, as well as Hi-Z instruments like electric guitars and basses. Each channel operates independently, allowing for flexible configurations—use both as mic boosters, both as DIs, or one of each.

In microphone mode, the dBooster2 offers switchable gain settings of 12dB or 20dB, providing clean, transparent amplification to bring out the full character of your microphones without introducing noise or distortion. This is particularly beneficial for low-output mics, ensuring they can drive preamps or interfaces effectively.

When used as a DI, each channel provides a high-impedance input with selectable gain of 0dB (unity) or 8dB, preserving the tonal integrity of your instruments while delivering a robust signal to your recording or live sound system.

The dBooster2 features Class A input stages that present a high source impedance to microphones, minimizing loading effects and maximizing headroom. Its low-impedance outputs are capable of driving long cable runs and complex loads, such as mic splitters and vintage-style preamps, without signal degradation.

Powered by standard 48V phantom power, the dBooster2 is designed to block phantom power from reaching the microphone inputs, safeguarding sensitive ribbon mics from potential damage.
