PMC15 SUBXBD (Pair). The PMC15 SUBXBD is the matching low-frequency expansion cabinet for the PMC15 main monitor. It is designed to form the second cabinet of a PMC15 XBD channel, adding low-frequency capacity while preserving the driver technology and acoustic character of the main system. For an existing PMC15 installation, it provides a defined route to the twin-cabinet XBD configuration without replacing the full-range monitors.

LOW-FREQUENCY ENGINEERING

Bass with definition and purpose.

PMC’s in-house 15-inch bass unit combines a substantial double-stacked magnet assembly with a three-inch, three-layer voice coil and a stable suspension. It is designed to maintain controlled movement over an extended excursion range, supporting high power handling and low distortion. The four-metre effective transmission line works with the driver to provide the scale required for demanding low-frequency monitoring.

ATL & LAMINAIRX

An enclosure designed around the driver.

PMC’s Advanced Transmission Line uses the energy from the rear of the bass driver through a carefully controlled internal path, contributing useful low-frequency output at the vent. The cabinet, driver and damping are engineered together, so extension is part of a complete acoustic design. LaminairX shapes airflow at the outlet to reduce turbulence and unwanted air noise, supporting clear bass reproduction when the system is working hard. The result is intended to make low-frequency information easier to judge, from the body of a kick drum to sustained synthesiser notes and the weight of an orchestral recording.

SYSTEM INTEGRATION

A defined upgrade path.

The complete PMC15 XBD system combines the main monitor’s master36 DSP/amplifier with power20 amplification for the additional 15-inch bass cabinet. The SUBXBD is a dedicated system expansion, so its electronics and cabling should be specified to match the existing PMC15 installation. SX Pro can confirm the required configuration when planning the upgrade.

SOUNDALIGN2

Bring the system into your room.

The XBD cabinet participates in the matching main monitor’s SoundAlign2-controlled system. Alignment and room EQ are managed through the PMC electronics over a wired Ethernet network, using a standard web browser. This keeps the expanded monitoring channel within one coordinated control platform. The main and additional bass cabinets should be positioned and aligned as a system, taking room boundaries, listening distance and the intended monitoring layout into account.

INSTALLATION & EXPANSION

Specify the system around your work.

A single PMC15 SUBXBD expands one matching PMC15 channel. A pair of expansion cabinets is the appropriate starting point when upgrading an existing stereo pair. Full-range PMC15 monitors remain essential to the system and are not supplied with this listing. Cabinet orientation and the relationship between the main and extension cabinets should be planned together, whether the system is freestanding or incorporated into the room architecture.
