PMC10 SUBXBD (Pair). The PMC10 SUBXBD is the matching low-frequency expansion cabinet for the PMC10 main monitor. It is designed to form the second cabinet of a PMC10 XBD channel, adding low-frequency capacity while preserving the driver technology and acoustic character of the main system. For an existing PMC10 installation, it provides a defined route to the twin-cabinet XBD configuration without replacing the full-range monitors.

LOW-FREQUENCY ENGINEERING

Bass with definition and purpose.

The custom 10-inch bass driver is developed in-house for the new main-monitor platform. Its long excursion capability is paired with an enclosure designed around the driver’s behaviour, keeping low-frequency reproduction controlled across a wide working range. This makes the cabinet useful for judging the relationship between bass weight, transient attack and sustained low-frequency energy.

An enclosure designed around the driver.

PMC’s Advanced Transmission Line uses the energy from the rear of the bass driver through a carefully controlled internal path, contributing useful low-frequency output at the vent. The cabinet, driver and damping are engineered together, so extension is part of a complete acoustic design. LaminairX shapes airflow at the outlet to reduce turbulence and unwanted air noise, supporting clear bass reproduction when the system is working hard. The result is intended to make low-frequency information easier to judge, from the body of a kick drum to sustained synthesiser notes and the weight of an orchestral recording.

SYSTEM INTEGRATION

A defined upgrade path.

The PMC10 SUBXBD works with the existing PMC10 master36 DSP/amplifier platform. The additional bass cabinet receives up to 1000 W while retaining the system’s crossover management, excursion protection and room-alignment facilities. It is an extension of the matching main monitor, so it should be specified as part of that system rather than connected as a general-purpose independent subwoofer.

SOUNDALIGN2

Bring the system into your room.

The XBD cabinet participates in the matching main monitor’s SoundAlign2-controlled system. Alignment and room EQ are managed through the PMC electronics over a wired Ethernet network, using a standard web browser. This keeps the expanded monitoring channel within one coordinated control platform. The main and additional bass cabinets should be positioned and aligned as a system, taking room boundaries, listening distance and the intended monitoring layout into account.

INSTALLATION & EXPANSION

Specify the system around your work.

A single PMC10 SUBXBD expands one matching PMC10 channel. A pair of expansion cabinets is the appropriate starting point when upgrading an existing stereo pair. Full-range PMC10 monitors remain essential to the system and are not supplied with this listing. Cabinet orientation and the relationship between the main and extension cabinets should be planned together, whether the system is freestanding or incorporated into the room architecture.
