PMC10 (Pair). The PMC10 brings the scale and confidence of a main monitoring system to small and medium control rooms. Designed for recording, mixing, mastering and film or television post-production, it combines a purpose-built 10-inch bass driver with the same midrange and high-frequency platform used throughout PMC’s new main monitor family. It is a reference for judging the complete mix: low-end weight, vocal balance, transient shape and the space around each instrument.

LOW-FREQUENCY ENGINEERING

Bass with definition and purpose.

The custom 10-inch driver is designed in-house to work with the cabinet as a complete acoustic system. Its long excursion and controlled behaviour let the PMC10 reproduce substantial low-frequency information without requiring the footprint of a larger main monitor. The published response reaches 23 Hz, bringing the bottom octave into focus when balancing bass instruments, kick drums and cinematic material.

ATL & LAMINAIRX

An enclosure designed around the driver.

PMC’s Advanced Transmission Line uses the energy from the rear of the bass driver through a carefully controlled internal path, contributing useful low-frequency output at the vent. The cabinet, driver and damping are engineered together, so extension is part of a complete acoustic design. LaminairX shapes airflow at the outlet to reduce turbulence and unwanted air noise, supporting clear bass reproduction when the system is working hard. The result is intended to make low-frequency information easier to judge, from the body of a kick drum to sustained synthesiser notes and the weight of an orchestral recording.

MIDRANGE & IMAGING

Keep the centre of the mix in focus.

A hand-built 34 mm soft-dome tweeter and the 75 mm PMC75v3 soft-dome midrange form the upper-frequency platform. The midrange incorporates PMC’s a-void damping approach, while the n-compass waveguide supports controlled dispersion and consistent integration through the crossover region. This shared architecture helps preserve a coherent tonal reference across the new main-monitor family.

That consistency matters when judging vocals, acoustic instruments, dialogue and spatial placement. A broad, controlled listening area also helps when more than one person is making decisions in the room, or when the system forms part of a larger immersive monitoring installation.

AMPLIFICATION & DSP

Dedicated power for every part of the signal.

The PMC10 uses 1 × master36 DSP/amplifier per channel, with 2,600 W of total amplification. The allocation is HF 800 W / MF 800 W / LF 1000 W. The rack-mounted electronics provide the power, crossover processing and driver protection as a coordinated system, with precision DSP matched to the specific loudspeaker configuration.

The active crossover separates the frequency bands before amplification, allowing each driver to work within its intended range. Excursion protection is integrated into the platform, while room-alignment EQ provides the adjustments needed to refine the installation.

SOUNDALIGN2

Bring the system into your room.

SoundAlign2 provides browser-based access to the PMC electronics over a wired Ethernet network. From a PC or Mac on the studio LAN, the engineer or installer can reach the system’s alignment controls and room EQ. Keeping these adjustments accessible is useful when refining placement, balancing levels or integrating the loudspeakers into a larger monitoring layout. Electronic alignment works alongside appropriate positioning and acoustic treatment; the system can be tailored to the room and the way it is used.

INSTALLATION & EXPANSION

Specify the system around your work.

The PMC10 can form the main left/right reference in a stereo room or be specified within an immersive installation. The family’s shared midrange and treble design supports consistent voicing across different monitor sizes. A matching PMC10 SUBXBD can expand each channel into the PMC10 XBD configuration when greater low-frequency headroom is required. The expansion cabinets are separate products.
