Product overview

PMC · MAIN MONITOR SERIES

Four-driver bass performance. Flexible system roles.

PMC10-4 SUB (Pair). The PMC10-4 SUB is a four-driver low-frequency cabinet with two defined system roles. It can operate as an independent reference subwoofer, or form the additional bass section of a PMC10-4 XBD system. Four custom 10-inch drivers and a dedicated ATL enclosure provide substantial low-frequency capacity, with the electronics configured to suit the chosen application.

LOW-FREQUENCY ENGINEERING

Bass with definition and purpose.

Four in-house, long-throw 10-inch drivers distribute the low-frequency workload across the cabinet. The system is specified for 4000 W of LF amplification, giving each driver a dedicated share of the available power. The design is intended to preserve control and definition when substantial low-frequency energy is required, rather than treating bass reproduction solely as an exercise in output level.

ATL & LAMINAIRX

An enclosure designed around the driver.

PMC’s Advanced Transmission Line uses the energy from the rear of the bass driver through a carefully controlled internal path, contributing useful low-frequency output at the vent. The cabinet, driver and damping are engineered together, so extension is part of a complete acoustic design. LaminairX shapes airflow at the outlet to reduce turbulence and unwanted air noise, supporting clear bass reproduction when the system is working hard. The result is intended to make low-frequency information easier to judge, from the body of a kick drum to sustained synthesiser notes and the weight of an orchestral recording.

AMPLIFICATION & FILTERING

Control the low-frequency contribution.

In standalone subwoofer use, the PMC10-4 SUB is operated by a master36 DSP/amplifier plus one power20. When adding it to a PMC10-4 to create an XBD system, two power20 amplifiers drive the additional cabinet under the existing master36 controller. The cabinet is specified for 4000 W of LF amplification. These are different system arrangements, so the intended application should be specified when ordering.

SOUNDALIGN2

Bring the system into your room.

SoundAlign2 provides browser-based access to the PMC electronics over a wired Ethernet network. From a PC or Mac on the studio LAN, the engineer or installer can reach the system’s alignment controls and room EQ. Keeping these adjustments accessible is useful when refining placement, balancing levels or integrating the loudspeakers into a larger monitoring layout. Electronic alignment works alongside appropriate positioning and acoustic treatment; the system can be tailored to the room and the way it is used.

INSTALLATION & EXPANSION

Specify the system around your work.

A dedicated subwoofer can support low-frequency monitoring, bass-managed systems or an appropriately configured LFE channel. Its crossover settings, level and placement should be selected for the main loudspeakers and room. A two-unit setup gives the system designer additional placement options, but the final arrangement still needs careful alignment. SX Pro can help establish which cabinet and electronics configuration suits the intended installation.

YOUR SYSTEM

What this listing includes.

2 × PMC10-4 SUB units. For standalone subwoofer operation, each uses 1 × master36 and 1 × power20; as an XBD extension, each uses 2 × power20 controlled by the existing main monitor’s master36. Specify the intended configuration with SX Pro when ordering.
