NEVE 8424E · 24-CHANNEL ANALOGUE CONSOLE
Put Neve at the centre
of every session.
The Neve 8424E brings the sound and physical connection of an analogue console into a studio that needs to move confidently between projects. A Marinair transformer-coupled mix bus, 24 channels and integrated Elements control give you a substantial recording and mixing platform, with the freedom to choose the processing around it.
Build your system around the music you make today. Add the EQ, dynamics and microphone preamps your next project needs. The console remains at the heart of it all.

THE ANALOGUE FOUNDATION
The mix comes together
through Neve.
At the centre of the 8424E is a Marinair transformer-coupled stereo mix bus derived from Neve’s iconic 80-series consoles. It puts that analogue topology into the path where your individual decisions become a finished mix, bringing Neve’s console heritage into a compact, modern studio.
Twenty-four channels, four mono groups and 48-input mix capability give you room to organise a production across the desk. Balance instruments, build groups and bring external processing into the mix from a surface designed to keep the whole session in view.
The 8424E is engineered entirely in the UK, alongside Neve’s large-format 88RS3. It carries that console-design experience into a format that can become the working centre of a producer’s room, project studio or professional recording space.

FROM TRACKING TO MIXING
Keep your studio connected.
The dual-input channel architecture lets 24 DAW returns and 24 recording inputs remain connected at the same time. Switch between recording and mixing without rebuilding the studio around each stage of the project.
Control at the input.
Digitally controlled trim provides independent recording and mixing levels. Each of the 24 channels also has a digitally controlled direct output, giving you a flexible route into your recording system. Eight-stage LED PPM metering keeps channel activity visible across the desk.
Space for the full production.
Use the console’s 48-input mix capability when the session needs additional sources, with four mono groups to organise your signal flow. Numbered 100 mm long-throw faders provide a clear, tactile way to navigate the mix.

THE E-CONTROLLER
Reach for the sound
from the console.
The E-Controller puts connected Elements processors under your hands at the desk. Its four touch-sensitive encoders with LED halo displays provide direct access to analogue processing that can live elsewhere in the rack.
Adjust an EQ or dynamics parameter while staying at the listening position. The console becomes the control point for your Elements system, bringing the response of hardware controls into a workflow that can also be recalled and managed in software.
Compression at the centre.
The E-Controller also brings two digitally controlled VCA compressors into the console. Use them in dual mono or stereo, with the 8424’s Smart Routing providing access to mix-bus, group, 1073 or DI processing paths.
That flexibility lets the same compression serve different jobs as a session develops, while digital control makes its settings recallable.
THE ELEMENTS UPSTAND SCREEN
See the processing.
Stay in the sweet spot.
Every 8424E comes fitted with the Elements Upstand Screen, a high-resolution TFT touchscreen mounted above the console. Connected Elements appear automatically, with graphical control and visual feedback for processor settings and routing.
The screen and E-Controller work together: the display shows the selected processing while the encoders provide physical control. You can keep listening from the position where your monitoring decisions make sense, with the rack’s processing brought directly to the desk.
As you add more Elements units, that control extends across the system. The hardware can be installed where it suits the studio; the controls remain where you work.

RESET, RECALL AND AUTOMATION
Return to the decisions
that made the mix.
The 8424E is a resettable analogue console designed for repeat sessions and mix revisions. Alongside the console’s reset workflow, the Element Control Plugin stores connected Elements processor settings within your DAW session and recalls them when you return to the project.
Automate Elements parameters from the DAW timeline and use the dedicated Neve Elements App when you want graphical control independently of the DAW. The application supports Windows and macOS, with AAX, AU and VST3 plug-in formats for integration with compatible recording software.
The processing itself takes place in genuine Neve analogue circuitry. The software controls the hardware, allowing you to combine that physical audio path with the repeatability of a session-based workflow.
A useful view of the session.
Choose single, multiple or grouped processor views to suit the job. Group Elements processors of the same type when you want coordinated control across several channels.
Room to explore.
A 64-step undo system helps you retrace adjustments. Stored snapshots let you archive and recall Elements configurations, making it easier to revisit a sound or recover an earlier direction.

CHOOSE YOUR ELEMENTS
Build the processing
you want to hear.
Elements brings three distinct Neve circuit designs into independently specified, eight-channel analogue processors. Each unit occupies 2U of a standard 19-inch rack, so you can add meaningful processing capacity without building every option into the console chassis.
EIGHT CHANNELS · FOUR-BAND EQ
88R EQ
Neve’s flagship 88R console equaliser circuitry, giving you four-band analogue EQ across eight channels. Choose it when you want the 88R’s equalisation architecture within the Elements workflow.
EIGHT CHANNELS · VCA DYNAMICS
88R Dynamics
Compression, limiting, gating and expansion based on the 88R console’s dynamics architecture. Add dedicated multichannel dynamics to the channels and groups that need it.
EIGHT CHANNELS · INDUCTOR EQ
1084 EQ
Classic Neve 1084 inductor-based three-band equalisation, associated with the legendary Sound City 8028 console. Bring that circuit design into a system with software control and session recall.
Start with the processor type and channel count you need, then combine EQ and dynamics units as your work develops. Elements also operates as a standalone system, so units can be integrated with compatible interfaces, consoles and patch bays independently of the 8424E.
YOUR EXISTING OUTBOARD, INCLUDED IN THE WORKFLOW
Make the rack part
of the console.
Elements connects to the 8424E through analogue insert send and return paths. Each Elements unit includes an intelligent insert matrix, with digital control over insert positioning, so your favourite external processors can remain part of the chain.
Cascade multiple Elements processors onto a console channel or incorporate existing outboard through the available insert connections. You can build the signal path around the sound you want while preserving the console’s core workflow.
D-sub audio connections support integration with established studio wiring. Ethernet carries Elements control communication; the audio connection remains analogue. The console’s own switchable balanced channel inserts provide further flexibility for external processing.
A RECORDING SYSTEM THAT CAN EXPAND
Choose the front end
for your sessions.
Build around the microphone preamps you already own, or specify external Neve preamplification to suit the work. Up to three optional 1073 OPX units can give all 24 console channels their own dedicated 1073 microphone preamp.
This approach gives a studio a practical route from focused overdubbing to larger recording sessions. You can choose where to invest first and add further preamps or Elements processing when the projects call for it.
Keep performers connected.
The transformer-coupled stereo cue send and three mono aux sends support headphone mixes and external effects. Aux 2 and 3 can provide a second stereo cue mix, while dual front-mounted headphone outputs allow convenient control-room connections.
Listen with confidence.
Solo-in-place, after-fader listen and pre-fader listen provide the solo choices needed for recording and mixing. Global solo controls and isolation options help you check a source while managing the rest of the session.

FOR EXISTING 8424 OWNERS
Keep the console.
Expand what it can do.
Neve provides an upgrade path for all existing 8424 consoles. The E-Controller, Elements Upstand Screen and software package bring an existing desk into the 8424E ecosystem, allowing it to become the control centre for connected Elements processing.
Your current console can remain the foundation of the studio as your requirements change. Speak to SX Pro about the upgrade and the Elements configuration that would best complement your existing system.
