Product overview

McDSP FutzBox v7 is a lo-fi and distortion processor. Transform clean audio into radios, small speakers, damaged transmissions and other characterful textures. FutzBox combines device modelling with filtering, EQ, distortion and noise for sound design, dialogue treatments and creative music production.

Build a convincing imperfect sound

Its Synthetic Impulse Models provide efficient device simulation and can be changed during playback. Add controlled noise, use ducking to manage its presence, or introduce dropouts with the sensitive gate to move from subtle colour to heavily degraded audio.

Compatibility and licence

Choose the edition for your workflow. Native supports AAX Native, AU and VST3. HD includes those formats and adds AAX DSP support for compatible Pro Tools hardware. Both editions run on macOS and Windows and are supplied as digital software licences.

An iLok account is required. Two activations are provided, with iLok 2/3 USB and iLok Cloud options; current v7 installers also support machine-based activation. Use version 7.3.0 or later for machine activation.
