Product overview

McDSP AE400 Active EQ v7 is a dynamic equaliser. Use four overlapping bands to combine conventional EQ with signal-responsive tonal control. AE400 lets you set a fixed sound and apply additional gain changes as the material moves, helping manage vocal resonances or changing instrument energy.

Respond only where needed

Each band has independent bandwidth, fixed gain and active gain controls. Its key filter can listen selectively or broadly, and an external sidechain can trigger the active response from another track for frequency-conscious mixing.

Compatibility and licence

Choose the edition for your workflow. Native supports AAX Native, AU and VST3. HD includes those formats and adds AAX DSP support for compatible Pro Tools hardware. Both editions run on macOS and Windows and are supplied as digital software licences.

An iLok account is required. Two activations are provided, with iLok 2/3 USB and iLok Cloud options; current v7 installers also support machine-based activation. Use version 7.3.0 or later for machine activation.
