Product overview

McDSP 4030 Retro Compressor v7 is a compressor. The 4030 combines flexible dynamics control with the character of McDSP’s Retro series. Its continuously variable ratio and signal-dependent response suit anything from gentle vocal levelling to firmer control of drums and instruments.

Blend punch and weight

Use the wet/dry control to mix the compressed signal with the original for parallel compression inside the plug-in. Sidechain monitoring helps you hear what is driving the detector, and the transformer-inspired output stage adds a finishing touch of colour.

Compatibility and licence

Choose the edition for your workflow. Native supports AAX Native, AU and VST3. HD includes those formats and adds AAX DSP support for compatible Pro Tools hardware. Both editions run on macOS and Windows and are supplied as digital software licences.

An iLok account is required. Two activations are provided, with iLok 2/3 USB and iLok Cloud options; current v7 installers also support machine-based activation. Use version 7.3.0 or later for machine activation.
