Product overview

McDSP 4020 Retro EQ v7 is an equaliser. Shape drums, bass and vocals with four bands of EQ and a pair of flexible filters. The 4020 combines broad tonal adjustment with increasingly selective curves as you apply stronger boosts or cuts, giving it a responsive, vintage-inspired feel.

Musical curves and output colour

High and low shelves work alongside two parametric mid bands. Split-octave high-pass and low-pass filters tidy the frequency extremes, while McDSP’s transformer-inspired output stage adds character to the result.

Compatibility and licence

Choose the edition for your workflow. Native supports AAX Native, AU and VST3. HD includes those formats and adds AAX DSP support for compatible Pro Tools hardware. Both editions run on macOS and Windows and are supplied as digital software licences.

An iLok account is required. Two activations are provided, with iLok 2/3 USB and iLok Cloud options; current v7 installers also support machine-based activation. Use version 7.3.0 or later for machine activation.
