The Ferrofish PULSE16 AE is a compact 1U rackmount converter designed to deliver pristine audio quality and exceptional flexibility in both studio and live environments. Offering 16 channels of fully balanced analog inputs and outputs with independent level control, alongside 32 channels of ADAT I/O, the PULSE16 AE is the ideal bridge between analog gear and digital workflows.

At its core, the PULSE16 AE employs high-resolution 32-bit ESS converters to achieve transparent, detailed conversion with wide dynamic range and ultra-low distortion. Each channel’s operating level can be precisely adjusted from –8 dBu up to +20 dBu in 1 dB steps, ensuring seamless integration with a wide range of professional audio equipment. Four ADAT ports provide full multichannel connectivity, supporting higher sample rates through SMUX technology while maintaining rock-solid stability.

Front-panel operation is clear and intuitive thanks to dual high-resolution TFT displays that deliver accurate real-time metering for all channels, along with a streamlined menu system for routing, clocking, and level adjustments. The flexible internal routing matrix allows any input to be directed to any output, making complex configurations straightforward without the need for external patching. A dedicated high-quality headphone output, powered by its own ESS DAC, offers selectable monitoring sources with precise 1 dB step control, catering to headphones of all impedances.

Connectivity is completed by word clock I/O on BNC with intelligent termination, MIDI and USB ports for remote control, and an optional DSP expansion slot to support future upgrades.
