Start with a different kind of source

Dystopia BL provides white, pink, blue and digital noise options. These sources can form the basis of percussion, textured layers or more abstract sound design. They also offer a useful contrast to pitched oscillators when a patch needs a broader or less regular character.

Filter and reshape the material

Parallel 12 dB low-pass and high-pass filters provide different perspectives on the source. Bit crushing adds another route to deliberately degraded digital texture. By treating the module as a sound-shaping stage rather than simply a noise output, you can build a wide range of percussive and experimental tones.

Bring in an external signal

Patching the external input replaces the internal noise source, letting other audio material enter the processing path. Random gate generation adds a control element that can influence events elsewhere in the system. This combination makes the module useful for both audio texture and irregular rhythmic behaviour.

A compact experimental tool

The black-panel BL version occupies 10 HP in a powered Eurorack case. It draws 56 mA at +12 V and 67 mA at -12 V. Dystopia is a useful addition when a system already has conventional voices and needs more varied noise, degradation and chance-based interaction.
