Choose the movement of the performance

Seventeen combines familiar FET compression controls with features that make it flexible in a modern recording or mixing chain. Ratios of 4:1, 8:1, 12:1 and 20:1 cover gentle control through to stronger limiting, while attack and release settings determine how much initial impact passes and how the gain recovers between notes.

Explore the more assertive side

All-buttons operation offers a further compression character for sounds that benefit from obvious attitude. The wet/dry control lets you mix that treatment with the original audio directly at the unit. This can bring up room sound, sustain or detail while retaining some of the uncompressed transient structure.

Filter with a purpose

A sidechain high-pass filter changes how low-frequency energy drives gain reduction. Selectable high- and low-pass filtering provides additional tonal control. These functions let you approach both the detector’s response and the resulting sound with more precision than a basic compressor alone.

A flexible outboard channel

The 2U rack format places the controls within easy reach, and stereo-link connectivity supports suitable paired applications. Use Seventeen during recording when you want to shape the signal before conversion, or connect it through a converter loop for mixing. It is particularly useful when a track needs a combination of control, density and character without losing the option to blend back the original.
