Synchronise across BNC, AES and S/PDIF

Revolution Clock offers four BNC outputs alongside AES, coaxial S/PDIF and optical S/PDIF clock outputs. That selection is useful when a studio combines devices with different clock-input options. Instead of basing the entire setup around whichever converter happens to be switched on first, you can organise compatible equipment around a dedicated timing reference.

Choose the rate for each connection format

The BNC outputs support sample rates up to 384 kHz, AES and coaxial S/PDIF up to 192 kHz, and optical S/PDIF up to 96 kHz. Check the format and rate accepted by each connected device when planning the system. A shared clock reference is valuable only when every receiving device is configured correctly and can lock to the selected rate.

Dedicated clock design

Macro-MMC architecture and MEMS oscillators form the core of the unit. Black Lion’s approach focuses on controlling timing through the internal signal path as well as at the oscillator. The result is a purpose-built clocking component with the connections needed to support a mixed digital studio.

An organised workflow

Use the front-panel control to select the required rate, then set compatible receivers to external sync. Keep audio routing separate from the timing plan and label each clock destination clearly. Powered from 9 V, Revolution Clock is a useful choice for a studio that needs more connection variety than a BNC-only clock while retaining a relatively compact setup.
