Black Lion Audio Revolution 6x6

A compact audio interface that connects your computer, mobile device and digital studio.

Record the sources you actually use

Two microphone, line and instrument inputs cover vocals, acoustic instruments, guitars and stereo electronic instruments. Balanced monitor outputs and two headphone connections provide a straightforward monitoring setup for writing or recording with another musician. Direct-monitor mix control lets you balance incoming audio against playback without building a separate software cue mix.

Bring a phone or tablet into the session

Alongside its computer USB connection, Revolution 6x6 provides a stereo USB OTG path for compatible mobile devices. This lets a mobile instrument or playback source become part of a computer session, or a computer-based performance feed a streaming device. Its six-input, six-output total includes digital paths; the unit has two analogue recording inputs, rather than six microphone preamps.

Useful without a computer

Standalone conversion modes allow Revolution 6x6 to work with S/PDIF equipment independently of a DAW. It can provide an analogue recording path into a compatible digital system or turn a digital source into an analogue monitoring feed. That flexibility makes it useful beyond its role as a desktop interface.

Power and synchronisation

Macro-MMC clocking and a BNC word-clock connection help coordinate connected digital equipment. USB power keeps a small rig portable, while an external 5 V supply provides another powering option. For a studio that moves between recording, sampling and livestreaming, the combination of analogue, S/PDIF and mobile connectivity reduces the need to keep changing the central hardware.
