Product overview

A recording hub for studios that combine microphones, instruments and analogue outboard.

Four preamps, with Auteur character on tap

Revolution 14x16 gives you four microphone/instrument channels, including transformer-coupled Auteur preamps on channels 1 and 2. Use those channels when you want to shape the recording at the input: keep the gain restrained for an articulate response, or push the preamp for more harmonic weight. Front and rear access to the first two channels makes it practical to leave a studio wired while still connecting a visiting instrument or microphone quickly.

Build out your recording system

The 14-input, 16-output architecture combines analogue connections with ADAT and S/PDIF. Four switchable insert/return paths make external EQs and compressors part of the recording chain; the returns can also accept line-level sources. ADAT provides room to expand your system with an external converter or preamp, so a compact vocal setup can develop into a larger tracking rig without replacing its centrepiece.

Monitoring for collaborative sessions

Three headphone outputs let you work with performers in the same room. Mix Edit combines hardware inputs and software playback into a shared headphone mix, with individual headphone level controls. Selectable metering helps you check the part of the signal path you are adjusting, while mono monitoring is useful when judging balance and phase relationships.

A coordinated digital studio

Macro-MMC clocking and BNC word-clock connections support integration with external digital hardware. The interface can supply the reference for a compatible system or follow an existing clock. USB-C connects the studio to your computer, while the 1U layout keeps the essential controls accessible alongside your rack equipment. Check your chosen sample rate and the connected ADAT equipment when planning the available digital channel count.
