Give each instrument a clear connection

MIDI Eight provides eight DIN MIDI inputs and eight DIN MIDI outputs. Connect keyboards, synthesisers, drum machines and other MIDI equipment to a dedicated port structure, then manage their routing from a connected computer. A USB-C computer connection brings the interface into the workstation setup.

Room for USB peripherals

Five USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 hub ports provide additional peripheral connections. External power is required for the hub, so include the appropriate power connection when planning a studio installation. Keeping MIDI and USB access together can simplify the cable layout around a hardware-based writing or production system.

Work with DIN MIDI independently

Standalone pass, thru and merge modes support useful DIN MIDI routing without relying on an active computer session. These standalone modes apply to the DIN connections; they do not route MIDI through the USB hub. That distinction matters when planning a computer-free performance rig.

Stay informed during a session

MIDI activity indicators make it easier to see whether data is reaching the interface, and a panic function helps deal with stuck notes. Clear port labels and a documented instrument assignment will make a larger setup easier to troubleshoot.
