Avid Sibelius Artist

Sibelius Artist is music notation software for songwriters, composers, students and teachers working on small and medium-sized scores. It provides a practical environment for writing notation, hearing an arrangement and preparing readable music for other players. The focus is on the common tasks involved in developing a musical idea into a score, with a more focused toolset than Sibelius Ultimate.

Develop ideas in notation

Build a score through note entry and editing, then use playback to assess the result. This makes it easier to check a phrase, explore an alternative voicing or hear the relationship between parts before a rehearsal. Working in notation also keeps the practical requirements of performers in view: rhythm, articulation and the shape of a line can be considered as part of the composition rather than left for a separate preparation stage.

Scores for everyday music making

Artist is suited to teaching material, songs and ensemble arrangements that fit within its edition limits. Its notation and layout facilities help turn those projects into usable documents, while file exchange provides a route for sharing work with collaborators. Choose Sibelius Ultimate when a project requires unlimited staves, the complete engraving toolset or more specialist professional notation features. Selecting the appropriate edition at the outset helps avoid a change of workflow during a demanding commission.

Choose your licence type

• New perpetual licence: A new perpetual licence. The core software licence does not expire. Future releases, subscription extras and support depend on the update/support entitlement included with the licence.
• New 1-year subscription: A new subscription providing 12 months of software access, paid upfront. Continued use after the term requires a further subscription. It is not a renewal of an existing licence or a monthly payment arrangement with SX Pro.
• 1-year subscription renewal: For an eligible existing reseller-purchased subscription to this same product and edition. Subscriptions bought directly from avid.com cannot use this reseller renewal code. Redeem within Avid’s renewal window; its current guidance allows a 14-day grace period after expiry. This does not renew a perpetual licence’s update plan.

Education licences, team licences, perpetual upgrades/update plans and crossgrades have separate listings with their own qualifying requirements.

Compatibility and delivery

Before installation, check the manufacturer’s current compatibility information for the software release you intend to use, including the operating system, processor, memory and any connected equipment. Compatibility with a particular computer or plug-in cannot be inferred from the product name alone. Keep a record of the registered entitlement and use the same account when managing subsequent updates or renewals.

Digitally delivered software licence. No physical box, computer, audio interface, storage system or other hardware is supplied. Register and activate the software using the manufacturer’s supplied instructions. An Avid account is used for Avid product redemption; Neuratron products also follow their applicable registration process.
