Avid Pro Tools Studio

Pro Tools Studio is Avid’s recording, editing and mixing software for producers, musicians and engineers working on substantial music projects. It provides a session environment in which audio, MIDI, virtual instruments and mix processing can be developed together. From tracking a band to building an electronic arrangement or preparing a detailed mix, it keeps creative decisions connected to the same timeline.

From performance to arrangement

Record multiple sources, compare performances and assemble the strongest passages into a coherent take. Precise editing is valuable for cleaning up a vocal, tightening an instrumental part or making an arrangement change without rebuilding the project. MIDI composition and software instruments sit alongside recorded audio, making it practical to combine programmed material with live performances. Clear session organisation also helps when returning to a project after a break or preparing it for another engineer.

Mixing with room to develop

Studio supports demanding music production and immersive mixing workflows, including a built-in Dolby Atmos renderer in supported versions. Routing, automation and plug-in processing let the mix evolve with the arrangement rather than becoming a separate task at the end. Stereo work remains central to the application, while its broader mixing tools offer a route into more ambitious delivery formats when the monitoring system and project requirements are ready.

• New perpetual licence: A new perpetual licence. The core software licence does not expire. Future releases, subscription extras and support depend on the update/support entitlement included with the licence.
• New 1-year subscription: A new subscription providing 12 months of software access, paid upfront. Continued use after the term requires a further subscription. It is not a renewal of an existing licence or a monthly payment arrangement with SX Pro.
• 1-year subscription renewal: For an eligible existing reseller-purchased subscription to this same product and edition. Subscriptions bought directly from avid.com cannot use this reseller renewal code. Redeem within Avid’s renewal window; its current guidance allows a 14-day grace period after expiry. This does not renew a perpetual licence’s update plan.

Education licences, team licences, perpetual upgrades/update plans and crossgrades have separate listings with their own qualifying requirements.

Digital supply begins only with your express consent. Once supply begins, the statutory cooling-off right is lost; rights relating to faulty or misdescribed digital content remain.

Compatibility and delivery

Before installation, check the manufacturer’s current compatibility information for the software release you intend to use, including the operating system, processor, memory and any connected equipment. Compatibility with a particular computer or plug-in cannot be inferred from the product name alone. Keep a record of the registered entitlement and use the same account when managing subsequent updates or renewals.

Digitally delivered software licence. No physical box, computer, audio interface, storage system or other hardware is supplied. An Avid account and the applicable iLok authorisation are required. Follow the redemption instructions supplied with the code; available activation methods depend on the product and software version.
