Avid Pro Tools Artist

Pro Tools Artist brings audio recording, MIDI composition, editing and mixing into one familiar production environment. It suits songwriters, beatmakers and musicians who want to develop an idea into a finished track while learning the same session-based workflow used across the Pro Tools range. A song can move from a simple guide performance to an arrangement with vocals, instruments and effects without changing applications.

Recording and arrangement

Build a session around your own performances, imported audio and software instruments. Recording to a timeline makes it straightforward to compare takes, organise sections and hear how a new part works against the arrangement. MIDI editing lets you refine a musical idea after playing it, while audio editing provides control over the timing and shape of recorded material. This is useful when a good performance needs a small correction rather than another complete take.

A focused mixing workflow

The mixer brings levels, panning and plug-in processing together so that individual decisions can be judged in the context of the whole song. Use insert processing to shape a track and shared effects to create a consistent sense of space across the arrangement. The Artist edition is aimed at music creation and stereo production; choose a higher Pro Tools edition when a project specifically needs its larger session capacity or advanced post-production facilities.

• New perpetual licence: A new perpetual licence. The core software licence does not expire. Future releases, subscription extras and support depend on the update/support entitlement included with the licence.
• New 1-year subscription: A new subscription providing 12 months of software access, paid upfront. Continued use after the term requires a further subscription. It is not a renewal of an existing licence or a monthly payment arrangement with SX Pro.
• 1-year subscription renewal: For an eligible existing reseller-purchased subscription to this same product and edition. Subscriptions bought directly from avid.com cannot use this reseller renewal code. Redeem within Avid’s renewal window; its current guidance allows a 14-day grace period after expiry. This does not renew a perpetual licence’s update plan.

Education licences, team licences, perpetual upgrades/update plans and crossgrades have separate listings with their own qualifying requirements.

Digital supply begins only with your express consent. Once supply begins, the statutory cooling-off right is lost; rights relating to faulty or misdescribed digital content remain.

Compatibility and delivery

Before installation, check the manufacturer’s current compatibility information for the software release you intend to use, including the operating system, processor, memory and any connected equipment. Compatibility with a particular computer or plug-in cannot be inferred from the product name alone. Keep a record of the registered entitlement and use the same account when managing subsequent updates or renewals.

Digitally delivered software licence. No physical box, computer, audio interface, storage system or other hardware is supplied. An Avid account and the applicable iLok authorisation are required. Follow the redemption instructions supplied with the code; available activation methods depend on the product and software version.
