Product overview

The AEA R88 MKII places two matched big-ribbon elements at 90 degrees in a single body for true Blumlein stereo or Mid-Side recording. It captures a coherent, spacious image with excellent mono compatibility, making it a powerful main microphone for orchestras, choirs, rooms, drum overheads and acoustic ensembles.

Its ribbon transducer is intended to capture transients and upper frequencies smoothly, making it a useful alternative to condenser microphones on sources that can otherwise become hard or overly bright.
