Product overview

The AEA R44C is a faithful, hand-built recreation of the RCA 44BX, using a long ribbon motor and substantial acoustic labyrinth to produce the weight, depth and smoothness associated with classic broadcast and studio ribbons. It is a statement microphone for vocals, strings, brass, orchestral recording and room capture.

Its ribbon transducer is intended to capture transients and upper frequencies smoothly, making it a useful alternative to condenser microphones on sources that can otherwise become hard or overly bright.
