Product overview

The AEA N8 is an active far-field ribbon microphone designed to capture instruments, ensembles and rooms with an open, natural perspective. It uses the same large ribbon geometry as AEA’s flagship R44 family but in a compact, unobtrusive body, with phantom-powered electronics that make it easy to use with modern preamps and interfaces.

Its ribbon transducer is intended to capture transients and upper frequencies smoothly, making it a useful alternative to condenser microphones on sources that can otherwise become hard or overly bright.
