Focusrite Pro ISA428 MKII
4-Channel Microphone Preamp
Four mic preamps with Focusrite heritage.
The ISA428 MKII from Focusrite gives you four transformer-based ISA mic preamps in 2U of rack space. The ISA 428 is based on the original ISA110 module from the Focusrite Forté console. This console was commissioned by Sir George Martin and designed by Rupert Neve. The ISA series of preamps have a heritage. The ISA 428 MKII is a descendent of this design, and features four Lundahl input transformers.
The ISA428 MK2 also includes four line inputs, these are switchable on the front panel of the unit. The microphone inputs are via XLR, the line inputs via TRS Jacks. Each channel has a dedicated send and return via TRS Jacks also. You can use these to integrate your outboard gear during tracking. The outputs of each channel are also via XLR.
The Mic, Line and Instrument inputs all feature a selectable input impedance. This includes ISA110 mode which is identical to the original module, in addition to another 3 impedance settings. This offers 4 tone shaping options instantly.
Each channel of the ISA828 features a six-LED input meter. On the rear of the unit is a global meter trim for adjusting the range of these LEDs. AT the default setting the metering is designed to follow a -18dBu reference.
Optional AD Converter Card
Focusrite also offer an 8-channel 192kHz converter card for the ISA828. This gives you ability to convert your signals to digital and connect them to your audio interface via ADAT/SMUX or AES/SPDIF via a breakout loom.
