Darkglass Electronics Microtubes 900 & 4x10 Cabinet
900W Bass Amplifier Head with 2 Overdrive Circuits
The Microtubes 900 is a 900W amplifier equipped with an all analog preamplifier and a Class D Power Module. The first thing you will notice from the Microtubes 900 is its unusual control layout: On the right side you’ll find the clean section which is the foundation of your tone. It features Gain and Master controls an active 4 band EQ. Along with Low and Treble controls you will find Low Mids and Hi Mids control, each knob with their own 3-way frequency switch. On the left side you will find the Microtubes Engine which acts as an extra channel that can bring your clean tone to the next level by helping you cut through the mix while adding anything from subtle tube break up, harmonics and natural compression to obliterating distortion.
Cabinets are probably the most underrated link on a musician's signal chain: we players obsess relentlessly about instruments, pedals and amplifiers, not realising that without speakers all of these elements merely generate or process electric signals. But music is heard and felt, not measured.
It is made of sound, and speakers are what transform electric signals into sound. The Darkglass sound is distinctive and unique. It is the foundation our reputation is built upon. We could not continue disrupting the bass guitar market without addressing the most essential part of the signal chain: speaker cabinets.
Loaded with 10" custom made Eminence drivers and a proprietary crossover circuit designed to enhance distortion excited-harmonics in a unique, pleasant way, our 210 and 410 cabinets are our answer to a market in dire need of a new player to shake things up.
The included Intelligent Footswitch is an intuitive yet versatile accessory for your Microtubes 900. One tap will engage and disengage the Microtubes Engine, while holding for 3 seconds will Mute the amplifier. It is connected to the head via a standard 1/4" cable and it's powered by a microcontroller that sends commands to the head using a proprietary communication protocol.
The Super Intelligent Footswitch (sold separately) increases this functionality by offering individual stomp switches for Mute, Clean, VMT, and B3K.
The Microtubes 900 can deliver more than 900 Watts. Be sure that your speaker cabinet is able to handle that power. You can reduce the output of the amp by selecting the 2Ω mode on the rear panel (by the Speakon output jack).
*WARNING: Do not use an instrument cable with the Speaker Output jack. Using an instrument cable can damage your amplifier.
** Use a regular mono instrument cable to connect the amplifier to the footswitch. Remove the cable from the footswitch jack in the rear panel if you want to control the amp from the front panel. The Microtubes 900 will only work with the Intelligent Footswitch (included), or Super Intelligent footswitch (sold separately.) A generic Footswitch will not work with the Microtubes 900.
